Eco Explorers here is a special treat!!! Enjoy a fantastic program on the fundamentals and art of fly-tying. You will work at your own pace to tie basic patterns under the guidance of our experienced instructors. Equipment and materials are provided. Limited to 8 participants.Ages 8 to 13. Learn about environmentally friendly planning by designing a model town that minimizes pollution and makes commuting, living and working easier for town residents. Ages 8-13. March 2010 topic.

The students learn all about fish anatomy, including how and what they eat, how and why they grow scales, and how they breathe. This hands-on program focuses on trout and is taught through the use of dissection. Ages 8 to 13. April 2010 Topic

Come spend the afternoon with experienced PCWE staff as we learn about fly fishing! Topics covered will include equipment, knots, casting techniques, and aquatic entomology. Equipment and materials provided. Ages 8 to 13. June 2010 Topic

Come spend the afternoon with experienced PCWE staff as we explore the Davidson River looking for aquatic macro invertebrates! Based on what we find, we can determine the water quality of the river and will discuss how these little critters play such an important role in the ecosystem and to our beloved mountain trout! Join PCWE staff as we explore the fascinating world of the Hellbender! This very unique looking salamander is considered a species of special concern. We will find out why and answer many more questions about our interesting amphibian friend! Ages 8-13. August 2010 Topic

Spend the afternoon with PCWE staff as we learn about the Bobby N. Setzer trout hatchery operations, participate in an outdoor activity that simulates trout life, and feed the fish! Ages 8-13. Sept. 2010 Topic

Come join PCWE staff for the afternoon as we learn about the compass! Participants will become familiar with the basic parts and functions of a compass while practicing their newly obtained compass skills on our orienteering courses! Ages 8-13. November 2010 Topic
