The Nature Nuts programs offer activities and topics that focus on specific wildlife species or related topics by incorporating an informational presentation with a children's book, craft project and a hands-on activity. Spend the morning with PCWE staff as we learn about the Bobby N. Setzer trout hatchery operations, participate in an outdoor activity that simulates trout life, and feed the fish! Ages 4-7. May 2010 Topic

Come spend the afternoon with experienced PCWE staff as we explore the Davidson River looking for aquatic macro invertebrates! Based on what we find, we can determine the water quality of the river and will discuss how these little critters play such an important role in the ecosystem and to our beloved mountain trout! Celebrating with Wildlife combines both the Nature Nuts and Eco-Explorers children for 2 hours of arts and crafts that focus on wildlife and the environment to celebrate the winter season. Create wildlife treats, tree decorations, and other seasonal crafts made from recycled and/or natural materials.Ages 4-13. December Topic
